Amazon has not been able to establish itself in the smartphone market, but it is however very present in the tablet market. And in the third quarter of 2024, the company even achieved a feat, according to a new study published by IDC, on tablet shipments worldwide. According to this study, global shipments grew by 20.4%. Despite modest growth of 1.4%, Apple remains the market leader, with 12.6 million units shipped and a 31.7% share. In second place is Samsung, whose shipments increased by 18.3%.
Amazon makes a breakthrough
As for Amazon, it is in third place, with a total of 4.6 million units shipped and a market share of 11.6%. In the second quarter, the company was not even in IDC’s Top 5. The seller held two Prime Days this year and offered discounts on most of its models”explains IDC in its publication.
