However, everything indicates that this will not be the case, and that, at least, we would have it in the third quarter, that is, close to the release of the iPhone 18, so it could even be that we would have to wait practically 12 more months to hold it in our hands.
When will the iPad Mini 8 be released?
Apple would be working on a new iPad Mini 8, which would be released in 2026, with the most relevant change in its screen, with the incorporation of an OLED panel, a technology that offers much more vivid colors, really deep blacks and much higher contrast than LCD screens that current iPad minis carry. For us, this would mean a better experience when watching series, playing games or simply reading, since the visual quality will be sharper and with better viewing angles than the current one.
Although many expect its arrival soon, forecasts indicate that this new iPad mini would not appear before the third quarter of 2026. This means that it would not be available until, at least, between July and September of that year. The main reason for the delay would be the production of the new OLED screens and the adaptation of the device design to this technology. However, we already know Apple, and these would be the minimum months, so we could go much further back if it does not finally arrive in summer, since they would focus their presentation on the new iPhones, leaving this iPad for the months of October or November.
In addition to the screen, it is expected to incorporate a more powerful processor which will increase the speed and overall fluidity of the system. This will especially benefit those who use the iPad for demanding tasks, such as photo editing, heavier gaming, or multitasking. It is also said that Apple could improve water resistance, something unusual in current iPads, and that it would even change the traditional speaker system for a design based on vibration to avoid openings that facilitate the entry of liquids.
These improvements will likely make the new model more expensive than the current one. Still, for those looking for a better display, stronger performance, and a more durable design, it might be worth the wait. On the other hand, if you need an iPad mini as soon as possible, the current model is still a safe purchasealthough the release of the new one, if it is more expensive and professional, could make the current one cheaper, so if you are not in a hurry, waiting could also be an option to acquire the best one in relation to quality and price.
