Samsung has finally made official the Galaxy Z TriFoldits first triple-folding smartphone. The device opens using two hinges until a 10 inch screenbut when closed it occupies practically the same space as a “normal” large mobile phone, although it is somewhat thicker and heavier.
The brand presents it as its new flagship for productivity and entertainment, with Android and Galaxy AI, closer to a tablet than a traditional phone. Of course, between its very high price and very limited availability, everything indicates that it will be more of a technological showcase than a true bestseller.
A 10-inch tablet that fits in your pocket
The Galaxy Z TriFold uses a design with two interior “G” hinges that allows the main screen to be folded inward in three sections. When deployed, it offers a panel 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with QXGA+ resolution, 120 hertz refresh rate and up to 1600 nits of brightness, designed both for working with various apps and for watching series without the feeling of the usual limitations in other folding devices.
Outside we find a screen 6.5 inches Full HD+also AMOLED at 120 hertz and with peaks of 2600 nits, so that the TriFold can be used like a conventional mobile phone without having to constantly open it. The set is only 3.9 millimeters thick at its thinnest point when fully open and 309 grams in weight, with protection IP48Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 glass on the front and a frame reinforced with aluminum and titanium.

In the hardware section, the Galaxy Z TriFold arrives with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxymanufactured in 3 nm, accompanied by 16GB RAM and options 512GB or 1TB internal storage. As standard, it mounts Android 16 with One UI 8with all the functions of Galaxy AI and Gemini integrated for tasks such as summarizing web pages, generating images or helping you in video calls with context of what you have on the screen.
The battery is another of the big headlines: Samsung mounts a triple battery system 5600mAhdistributed in the three sections of the chassis to balance weights and temperatures. It is the largest battery that the firm has ever mounted in a foldable and is accompanied by 45 W fast charging, 15 W fast wireless charging and reverse charging for your accessories, so, at least on paper, autonomy and charging times should not be a problem.
In photography, the TriFold inherits the high-end configuration of the Fold series: 200 megapixel main camera12 megapixel ultra wide angle and 10 megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom and up to 30 digital magnifications with the help of AI. Added to this are two 10-megapixel front cameras, one on the cover screen and another on the internal panel, to choose the best angle for selfies or video calls, without having to deal with the complexity of its folding design.

Price and availability: a very expensive treat with very limited availability
Samsung will start selling the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 12 in South Koreawith progressive expansion to markets such as China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates before the end of the year. The company has also confirmed that the phone will arrive in the United States in the first quarter of 2026, although for now there is no mention of Europe or, therefore, a possible official launch in Spain.
As for the price, the economic media that have had access to the presentation speak of a price tag of around 3.59 million wonsomething more than 2400 dollars, about 2300 euros at the exchange ratewell below the $3,000 that was reported in some leaks but still sky-high. It seems that Samsung wanted to go all out, although there are probably few who can afford it.
Previous leaks also pointed to very limited production, with estimates ranging between 20,000 and 100,000 units worldwide, depending on the source consulted. That is to say, even if it is finally decided to bring it to a European country, everything indicates that the Galaxy Z TriFold will be an almost collector's product and that the majority of Android users will continue looking at more conventional folding devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
