The most popular messaging app in the world, WhatsApp, is updated, and it wants its users to not suffer so much from SPAM from companies and people, which, sometimes, are even scams or commercial promotions in very bad taste, something that bothers us all.
That is why they would have created a new filter system that limits users or companies that send many messagespreventing them from continuing with that practice, upon detecting that it is content not authorized by the other person. But don't worry, it won't affect a normal person.
New WhatsApp antispam filter
WhatsApp is testing a new rule to reduce annoying messages (spam). The idea is to put a limit on the number of messages that a person or company can send each month to people who have not responded to them. That means that if you send messages to strangers and no one answers you, those messages will add up until you reach the limit.
If you are close to reaching that limit, the app will show you a window letting you know how many messages you have left so you don't get temporarily blocked. WhatsApp says that Most normal people won't reach that limit.; The measures are designed to stop those who send many messages without receiving responses. That is, if you talk to clients or new people, but they respond to you, because they are interested, it will not add up, so nothing will happen to you even though you have many new daily contacts.
That is, messages that do receive a response will not count towards the limit, so actual conversations are not affected (much less for individuals who do not work with WhatsApp). The test is being done in several countries and WhatsApp is experimenting with different numbers to see what works best, so it may not be applied in your country yet, waiting for it to work correctly, since they will have to do tests and calculate what the limit is that prevents advertising companies from contacting us, but that does not limit those who use it legally.
In short: they want to stop those who send advertising or chains without permission, without disturbing people who use the app to talk to friends, family or real clients. If you use WhatsApp normally, you shouldn't notice anything; If you receive a lot of messages from companies or strangers, these new rules seek to reduce that, so it will benefit us alland we should not enter groups we do not want, or receive a scam message. At least we will notice the reduction, even though it is not zero, yet.
And you, are you one of those who are lucky and do not receive this type of advertising through the app? Or, however, are you tired of being put in scam groups or being told about false promotions without knowing the contact? If you are one of the latter, you will probably be relieved by everything that will come with this update, which should be implemented very soon. Leave us a comment with your opinion.
